How it works

Online Screening

Leave your details and schedule a intake. Through a digital questionnaire, we will investigate whether you are eligible.

Intake

You will discuss our program with one of our specialized doctors and decide whether to participate.

Blood & DNA research

You will receive the studies at home for a smooth process. Blood tests are done a location near you.

Personal Treatment Plan

Based on your research results, the doctor will create a personal treatment plan, usually consisting of bioidentical hormone supplementation and, if necessary, supplements.

Monitoring

During your treatment, you will be in regular contact with our expert team. Blood tests are done every 12 weeks for adjustments.

Evaluation

At the end of your treatment, we will determine your next steps together. This may include a referral back to the doctor or further guidance with Menovia.

What is a gut microbiome test?

A gut microbiome test provides insight into the composition and diversity of the bacteria in your gut. These bacteria play an important role in digestion, immune function, and hormone metabolism.
During menopause, the balance of the gut microbiome can change. This may influence how hormones are processed in the body and how your body responds to hormonal changes. A gut microbiome test can help us better understand whether gut health plays a role in your symptoms.
The test is carried out using a stool sample and is always evaluated in combination with other assessments and your personal health profile. It is not a standard test for everyone, but may provide valuable additional insights when appropriate.

Who is Menovia for?

Many women don't realize that perimenopause can start in their early 40s. This phase is often associated with vague or varying hormonal symptoms that are not always immediately recognized. If you experience such symptoms (see our list of perimenopause and menopause symptoms), you can already sign up with Menovia for research and guidance.

Menovia is for women in the perimenopause and menopause who need personalized and evidence-based hormonal support:

- For women who want to have their hormonal balance examined and gain more insight into their health.
- For women who have never used hormones before and are looking for a safe and customized start.
- For women who are already taking hormones but are not satisfied with their current treatment and want to get a better grip on their therapy.
- For women who want to better understand their hormonal balance and want a broader medical approach.

What are the costs for BHRT?

The costs of bioidentical hormone therapy (BHRT) depend on the medication that is prescribed and are partly under the health insurer and partly under your own account.- Personalized doses (prepared by a pharmacy) are currently not reimbursed by health insurance and are therefore at your own expense. - Generic drugs in standard doses are in most cases partially or fully reimbursed by the health insurer.

Are Menovia's treatments covered by health insurance?

Menovia's programs are currently not reimbursed by health insurance. We hope that changes in the future. For hormone supplementation, we often start with low, personalized doses of estrogens and progesterone. These are being built up step by step. Whenever possible, we try to switch to generic variants and dosages that are reimbursed by health insurance. However, some women tolerate personalized medication better and choose to keep taking it. For them, the costs remain at their own expense. In addition, DHEA and testosterone are off-label in the Netherlands and only available in personalized preparations. There are no generic variants of this, so they always have to be funded by the patient himself.

What is a DUTCH test?

The DUTCH test (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) is an advanced at-home test that provides insight into your hormonal health using dried urine samples. The test not only measures how much hormone your body produces, but also how your body processes and breaks down these hormones.

What does the DUTCH test measure?

Sex hormones:
estrogen, progesterone, testosteroneStress hormones: cortisol (daily rhythm) and DHEA
Melatonin: the sleep hormone
Hormone metabolites: how your body breaks down hormones

Why is this test useful?
The DUTCH test offers in-depth insight into hormonal patterns that may contribute to symptoms such as fatigue, sleep problems, menopausal symptoms, stress, low libido, or unexplained weight gain. It provides more comprehensive information than standard blood or saliva tests.
